Safety Week 2026 – Cotecna China

During Cotecna Safety Week 2026, offices and laboratories across China took the theme “Empowering YOU” and turned it into practical action. The week reinforced a simple but powerful message: safety is not just about following rules. It is about having the confidence to speak up, the authority to stop unsafe work, the willingness to share ideas, and the responsibility to look out for one another. Here’s a glimpse of how China teams brought this year’s safety week to life:

1. “Stop Work” Training

This training clarified when and how to exercise the “Stop Work” authority, as well as the necessary next steps. It empowered employees to confidently assess risks and halt operations whenever safety concerns arise, transforming “stop work” from a policy into a proactive safety habit.

2. Office Safety Inspections

Teams conducted inspections across office areas to identify potential risks related to electrical safety, passageways, fire protection, emergency facilities, etc. This initiative helped extend safety awareness beyond inspection and laboratory environments into our daily office routines.

3. Safety Culture Wall

Safety messages and best practices have been showcased in high-traffic areas, keeping safety top of mind, and reinforcing awareness through constant, visible reminders.

4. Toolbox Safety Talks

Frontline teams integrated safety knowledge directly into their daily workflows. In laboratories, sessions focused on the safe handling and storage of chemicals, covering classification, labeling, and usage protocols. Meanwhile, in sample preparation facilities, the focus shifted to Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), highlighting the correct selection, use, and maintenance of gear for specific tasks.

Safety Week 2026 has come to an end, but our commitment to safety carries on every single day of the year. Safety starts with each of us and is sustained by all of us. Let’s take the shared understanding from the week into our daily work: raise concerns when hazards are identified, stop work when risks arise, and speak up whenever there is room to do better.
