Mission
The Senior WordPress VIP Developer takes end-to-end ownership of Cotecna’s corporate web platform, ensuring it is secure, scalable, reliable and high-performing while supporting business, marketing, communications and lead-generation objectives.
The role serves as the internal subject-matter expert for WordPress VIP and enterprise web development, translating business and marketing requirements into sustainable technical solutions across global, regional and multilingual website environments.
The position maintains and evolves the WordPress ecosystem through strong development standards, dependable integrations, effective governance and continuous improvement of performance, user experience and editorial workflows.
Main Accountabilities
Own and manage the WordPress platform end-to-end, covering development, maintenance, optimisation, governance, releases, deployments, updates and version control.
Ensure platform performance, security, availability and reliability, including page speed, caching, Core Web Vitals, vulnerability monitoring, production stability and disaster-recovery readiness.
Develop, maintain and enhance custom WordPress themes and plugins, implementing scalable functionality aligned with business and marketing requirements.
Define and maintain development standards, coding practices and technical documentation, and ensure adherence to WordPress VIP standards and deployment methodologies.
Troubleshoot technical issues, identify root causes and deliver sustainable long-term solutions across staging and production environments.
Partner with marketing, communications and business teams to support campaigns, content publishing, lead generation, SEO, user experience, content architecture and conversion optimisation.
Enable efficient, user-friendly editorial workflows and ensure website features support agreed business goals and performance metrics.
Integrate WordPress with CRM, marketing-automation, analytics and third-party platforms, including reliable website-to-CRM data flows, tracking, attribution and reporting requirements.
Support multi-country and multilingual website environments while contributing to website governance, content consistency and global brand standards.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to scope, prioritise and implement platform enhancements, integrations and continuous-improvement initiatives.
Act as the primary point of contact for website-related technical matters and explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Minimum 5 years of web-development experience with a strong focus on WordPress.
Proven experience with WordPress VIP or enterprise-grade WordPress platforms.
Strong experience in custom theme and plugin development, WordPress architecture, production website management, performance optimisation, debugging, security, compliance and site maintenance.
Experience with Git, version-control workflows, CI/CD, deployments, hosting, staging and production environments.
Experience supporting international, multi-country, multilingual or multi-site web environments is preferred.
Experience integrating websites with CRM, analytics, marketing-automation or lead-generation platforms is preferred.
Experience working with marketing, content, communications, business and technical stakeholders in a complex organisation.
