Chinese Delegation of Shandong Institute for Food and Drug Control Visits Cotecna Head Office

​This visit aimed to foster partnership between the Chinese food & pharma technical body and the global TIC company, serving as a platform for knowledge exchange, market insight sharing, and collaboration exploring in the food & pharma sector.

Adrian WALKER, Chief Compliance Officer along with Julie ENGELEN, Senior Corporate Communications Director, extended a hospitable welcome to the guests. Building on this, the Cotecna team delivered a comprehensive presentation showcasing our global capabilities in food & pharma TIC services, focusing on our international expertise and infrastructure. In return, the delegation presented the Institute’s role in regulatory oversight and food safety in China’s Shandong Province.

A highlight of the meeting was an engaging and focused technical exchange between Cotecna food expert Andrea RIZZO and the delegation. They delved into food safety standards, testing methodologies, and regulatory practices. 

Notably, Shandong Province, recognized as a major agri-food production region of China, holds a significant position in the country’s food industry. It is home to Baier Testing, Cotecna’s food laboratory in China. The Shandong delegation shared an interest in building a tie with Cotecna, particularly in light of Cotecna’s robust presence across China and growing role in global supply chains. This led to the signing of a general cooperation agreement during the visit, aiming to promote academic and knowledge exchange between both parties. This will connect regulatory and industrial needs, paving the way for future collaborative efforts between the Chinese food technical body and the global TIC market player.
