Cotecna and ACONOQ sign an amendment to the PCEC contract

The Trust with which ACONOQ honors Us, formalized through the signing of a contract amendment during an official ceremony at the Ministry of Industrial Development and Private Sector Promotion in Brazzaville, underscores Cotecna’s continued role in strengthening product conformity assessment for imports into the Republic of Congo.

This renewed mandate confirms the trust placed in Cotecna by ACONOQ and the Congolese government, and further solidifies a partnership based on mutual respect, capacity building, and technical cooperation, with the shared goal of protecting consumers and supporting industrial development.

About the PCEC Programme

The Programme Congolais d’Évaluation de la Conformité (PCEC) is a regulatory initiative implemented by ACONOQ to ensure that imported goods comply with Congolese standards and technical regulations before they enter the country. The programme aims to: 

• Guarantee the quality and safety of products for consumers
• Prevent the importation of substandard or unsafe goods
• Facilitate customs clearance through recognized certification
• Strengthen the national quality infrastructure

Cotecna’s Mandate

As an authorized body under the PCEC programme, Cotecna is responsible for issuing Certificates of Conformity (CoC) for exports of regulated products destined for the Republic of Congo.

Our responsibilities include: 

• Product inspection and laboratory testing as needed
• Verification of technical documentation and compliance evidence
• Issuance of Certificates of Conformity (CoC) for products that meet ACONOQ’s standards
• Exporter support and guidance to ensure regulatory compliance
