Cotecna at ZITF 2025: Promoting CBCA Awareness

Cotecna Inspection Zimbabwe was proud to attend and exhibit at the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) held from April 21st to 24th, 2025. It was a fantastic opportunity for us to engage with key stakeholders, meet with business leaders, and inform the public about the importance of the Consignment-Based Conformity Assessment (CBCA) program in ensuring that products imported into Zimbabwe meet the required quality and safety standards. 

Throughout the exhibition, we enjoyed meaningful conversations with exporters, importers, government representatives, and trade organizations. Our team was able to highlight the critical role of applying for CBCA pre-shipment inspection certificates to ensure smooth customs clearance and compliance with Zimbabwean regulations. 

The CBCA program, initiated by the Zimbabwe Ministry of Industry and Commerce (MIC), plays a vital role in protecting consumers and supporting the country's economic competitiveness. As the government-appointed partner for the CBCA program, Cotecna is committed to facilitating trade while ensuring that imported regulated products meet the national standards. 

We were also delighted to meet with representatives from the Ministry of Industry and Commerce during the event and had the hounor of attending their official dinner, which provided further opportunity to strengthen our partnership and alignment on key trade initiatives. 

In addition to exhibiting at ZITF, Cotecna also participated in the ZimTrade Trade and Investment Roundtable, which focused on enhancing trade relations and exploring investment opportunities between Mozambique and Zimbabwe. We emphasized the importance of early CBCA application to support the smooth movement of goods and compliance with regulatory requirements.
