Cotecna attends first official FSC™ certification body meeting since achieving accreditation

Every year, the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) invites all 47 FSC certification bodies to attend a meeting over several days in Bonn, Germany.  This meeting brings together Certification Bodies (CB’s), FSC leadership and a range of other strategic actors for updates on critical subjects.  This year, Cotecna was one of 4 new CBs attending from 2-3 September.     

The important role that CBs play was reinforced by the FSC Director General, and there were informative sessions on a wide range of subjects with a considerable focus on integrity related matters, supplemented by interactive workshops.  

A total of 24 different speakers spoke across the 2 full days attended by Sue Keen (Group Quality Senior Manager) and Jamie Tang (FSC Product Manager) representing Cotecna Inspection SA and Olivier Zou, representing ESTS.   

“As a new CB for this scheme, it was really useful to get these updates face-to-face and also have the opportunity to mix and speak with people who have been working on these certifications for many years.  It was a very intensive 2 days, but well worth attending, and we look forward to attending future meetings.”  Sue Keen, Group Quality Senior Manager.
