Cotecna Hosts Seminar to present E-dox™ to help digitalize the Conformity process with ECAE

On January 14, 2025, Cotecna, in collaboration with the Ethiopian Conformity Enterprise (ECAE), hosted an exclusive seminar in their New State of the Art quality Village in Addis Ababa. A special note of gratitude goes to ECAE for generously providing the venue for the seminar at no cost, making this event possible. The event marked the presentation of the E-dox™ platform as a solution designed by Cotecna to empower banks, customs, and other stakeholders with the ability to verify the authenticity of certificates efficiently and securely. 

E-Dox directly addresses challenges raised during Cotecna’s previous event at Skylight Hotel, where stakeholders expressed difficulties in verifying certificates authenticity. The E-dox™ platform eliminates these barriers by offering a user-friendly, transparent tool for stakeholders to ensure certificate validity. 

The seminar welcomed a diverse group of participants, including representatives from various banks, the Ministry of Trade and Regional Integration (MoTRI), ECAE, and Cotecna. During the event, attendees explored the platform’s capabilities, discussed its impact on the trade ecosystem, and examined how it will help prevent fraudulent certificate activities. 

The event began with a presentation by Cotecna representatives, including Wesley Aondo, Jonathan Goh, Estifanos Samuel, and Abel Ayele, who highlighted how the E-DOX™ platform addresses the challenges identified by government officials. The seminar concluded with an engaging Q&A session and providing valuable opportunities for networking as well. 

While the E-dox™ platform represents a new chapter, it builds upon the foundation of collaboration established through past efforts, including the expansion of the PVoC program in 2024 from being exclusive to solar standalone only to cover 11 key import categories. 

Participants expressed enthusiasm about the platform’s potential to streamline trade processes and enhance trust in Ethiopia’s certificate verification framework. Cotecna and ECAE reaffirmed their shared vision of fostering innovation and transparency in the trade sector.
