Cotecna Joins ACONOQ to Celebrate Worlds Standards Day in Congo

On October 14, Cotecna proudly participated as a sponsor in the World Standards Day 2025 event organized by ACONOQ in Congo Brazzaville. Our Congo team, alongside our Vice President Africa & Verification of Conformity Lena SODERGREN, joined industry leaders, regulators, and partners to celebrate the global impact of standards on trade, safety, and sustainable development. 

World Standards Day is a joint initiative by ISO, IEC, and ITU, honoring the collective efforts of experts and institutions who develop and implement international standards. This year’s theme, “A Shared Vision for a Better World: Partnerships for the Goals,” highlights the critical role of collaboration in accelerating progress toward the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). 

In Congo, the event spotlighted how standards contribute to: 

• Strengthening the competitiveness of local and regional businesses 
• Enhancing consumer protection 
• Facilitating trade within the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA)
