Cotecna South Africa Celebrates 15 Years

A lot of milestones have been achieved along this 15-year journey, the timeline below indicates what the past 15 year have looked like for Cotecna and the Phola lab:

• 1 June 2009: The first contract commenced under CoalLab.
• 1 January 2015: The second contract began under Cotecna South Africa after acquiring CoalLab.
• 1 January 2020: The third contract started under Cotecna Ubumbene.
• 3 September 2020: Achieved ISO 17025 accreditation.

The laboratory services offered to Phola has expanded over the years and remains an integral part of the mining operations, being part of processes including plant control, plant efficiency testing, export certification and Magsep efficiency.
