Cotecna was honoured to Exhibit at the EU- ZIM Business Forum 2025

Cotecna proudly participated in the inaugural EU-Zimbabwe Business Forum, held from May 20 to 22, 2025, at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Harare. As both an exhibitor and attendee, we took the opportunity to engage with a wide range of stakeholders—from European businesses exploring opportunities in Zimbabwe to leading local institutions.

Cotecna supports the country’s trade ecosystem as an officially appointed partner for the Ministry of Industry and Commerce’s Consignment-Based Conformity Assessment (CBCA) program. Through this program, Cotecna helps ensure that all imported goods meet the necessary standards for quality, safety, and compliance, ultimately contributing to consumer protection and fair trade. 

Representing Cotecna at the event were Cedric Serre, Regional Manager for Southern Africa, and Estellah Paulser, Sales and Marketing Executive. Together, they led engagements at our exhibition booth, which saw strong foot traffic from delegates eager to learn about Cotecna’s services and the vital role of the CBCA program in Zimbabwe’s import regulations.

The forum provided a valuable platform for dialogue with EU exporters interested in entering the Zimbabwean market. Many were keen to understand the CBCA requirements—an essential step in ensuring that goods shipped to Zimbabwe comply with the country’s technical regulations and standards. Cotecna’s team provided practical guidance on how exporters can navigate the CBCA process seamlessly. 

In addition to international outreach, Cotecna engaged with key local organizations such as ZimTrade and the Confederation of Zimbabwe Industries (CZI) to explore collaborative efforts in increasing domestic awareness and understanding of the CBCA program. These discussions focused on improving outreach and providing targeted support to Zimbabwean businesses to ease compliance.
