Sustainability Services in China
Climate change is a global issue facing mankind. As carbon dioxide and greenhouse gas emissions soar, it poses a threat to all living systems. In this context, countries around the world have reduced greenhouse gases in the way of global agreement, and more than 120 countries and regions have put forward the goal of sustainability.
Sustainability certification can be defined as providing for the present needs without compromising the needs of the future generations to meet theirs. Economic, social, and environmental sustainability is a must in today's business environment. These can include initiatives that assess and improve upon power and energy reduction, green transportation, recycling and materials reuse, and paper & wood sourcing.
There is currently no absolute certification that can be applied across the myriad of industries. Instead companies depend on specific industry sustainability certifications to prove their ethical and sustainability status. These certifications focus on supporting businesses on continuous development, meet their market expectation, and provide a new way to compete.
Certifications & Services
Sustainability certification can promote the construction of a green supply chain platform and effectively mobilize the whole industrial chain in systematic energy saving and carbon reduction.
At Kaixin Certification (Beijing) Co. Ltd, a member of the Cotecna Group, one of our goals is assuring trust to supply chains and allowing them to become economic beneficially, environmentally friendly and socially responsible. Hence, we offer a slew of sustainable solutions and services:
1. Carbon Verification & Carbon Footprint
In order to demonstrate their responsibility for carbon equivalent emission reduction and subsequent actions, companies need to obtain the certification of a third-party certification body after conducting internal carbon verification. Through the carbon emission verification and carbon footprint verification completed by a third-party certification body, it will improve the readiness of verification results and enhance credibility.
2. Global Organic Textile Standard
This Standard covers the processing, manufacturing, packaging, labelling, trading, and distribution of all textiles made from at least 70% certified organic natural fibres. The final products may include, but are not limited to fibre products, yarns, fabrics, garments, fashion textile accessories (carried or worn), textile toys, home textiles, mattresses, bedding products, as well as textile personal care products.
3. Textile Exchange (OCS, GRS, RCS)
With a membership that represents leading brands, retailers, and suppliers, Textile Exchange has, for years, been positively impacting climate through accelerating the use of preferred fibres across the global textile industry and is now making it an imperative goal through its 2030 Strategy: Climate+.
Under the Climate+ strategic direction, Textile Exchange will be the driving force for urgent climate action with a goal of 45% reduced CO2 emissions from textile fiber and material production by 2030. Textile Exchange’s mission is to accelerate sustainable practices in the textile industry. This acceleration only happens when steps have been taken to ensure that actions taken toward sustainability result in real and meaningful change. To ensure that recycled or organic materials are not replaced in the supply chain, certification shall be issued at every stage of the supply chain.
4. CFCC Chain of Custody
Today, facts have proved that 84% of people are very concerned about environmental pollution and 82% are very concerned about global warming.
Because many countries regard the forest certification system as a necessary condition for importing forest products, it has increasingly become a non-tariff trade barrier in forest product trade. Only by providing forest certification that meets the requirements can we ensure the smooth progress of export trade.
The customers covered in the chain of custody include companies involved in wood products supply chains, such as furniture, printing materials, musical instruments, shovels, accessories, sun umbrellas, etc. In addition, forest food, paper products and printing industry are also included in the chain of custody certification.
5. Global Wind Organisation
The Global Wind Energy Organization is a not-for-profit organization founded by leading wind turbine manufacturers and operators. GWO members are committed to establishing a safe working environment in the wind industry, developing common international standards for wind safety training and emergency procedures.
GWO published the first version of the Basic Safety Training (BST) standard in 2012 in response to the wind industry's need to establish a recognized standard. This was followed by the publication of the Basic Technical Training (BTT) standard in 2017. Since then, GWO has introduced a series of other training standards that meet the owner's requirements for a wide range of jobs for wind power industry practitioners. GWO's global network of training providers is delivering cost and efficiency benefits to owner-operators, manufacturers, contractors. As the network grows, employers can benefit from increasing competition.
