What A Successful Safety Week 2024! Think Safe. Act Safe. Be Safe.

Here are the highlights of Safety Week 2024! We focused on fostering a culture that empowers everyone with a safer environment for all!

Cotecna Safety Week 2024 marked its fifth edition with a strong focus on "Accident Prevention." This year's theme underscores our commitment to proactively identifying potential hazards, nurturing a culture of safety, and striving for continuous improvement in our Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) practices.

Think Safe. Act Safe. Be Safe.

From September 23rd to 27th, we invited all employees to engage deeply with safety through various local team activities. A highlight of the week was the Improving Our Safety Performance webinar held on September 26th. During this session, participants explored key topics, including:

  • Reviewing our HSE KPIs to gauge current performance.
  • Benchmarking against other TIC companies.
  • Discussing the essential pillars of an effective HSE system.
  • Understanding safety leadership and the traits of effective safety leaders.
  • Identifying three crucial actions for all safety leaders.

The Importance of Safety Leaders

Are safety leaders innate or cultivated? While some individuals possess natural leadership skills, many critical qualities of effective safety leaders are developed through training and mentorship. At Cotecna, safety leaders are important in modeling best practices, fostering open communication, engaging with team members, and prioritizing safety performance.

These leaders can be found throughout the organization, including roles such as supervisors, team leaders, and frontline managers. Our video series during Safety Week dives into the characteristics of ideal safety leaders and their vital role in establishing a robust safety culture.
