OBP (Ocean Bound Plastic)

Cotecna helps organizations achieve Ocean Bound Plastic (OBP) certification to demonstrate their commitment to reducing plastic pollution and protecting marine ecosystems. Our certification process ensures your operations and products meet globally recognized standards for preventing plastic waste from entering oceans.

What is OBP Certification?

Ocean Bound Plastic (OBP) certification is an internationally recognized program that verifies business efforts to collect, recycle, and manage plastic waste before it reaches the ocean. By obtaining OBP certification, your business actively contributes to environmental protection and aligns with global sustainability goals.

Benefits of OBP Certification

  • Demonstrate environmental responsibility by preventing plastic leakage into oceans and safeguarding marine life.
  • Strengthen market advantage by differentiating your brand with credible sustainability credentials.
  • Build consumer trust by showing transparency and commitment to eco-friendly practices.
  • Show compliance by aligning with international sustainability frameworks and reporting standards.

How to Achieve OBP Certification with Cotecna

Cotecna provides Ocean Bound Plastic services to help organizations verify their commitment to preventing plastic waste from entering oceans. Our services cover the entire certification process, ensuring compliance with internationally recognized OBP standards.

Organizations seeking OBP verification/certification must first complete the application and contract agreement process.

Once this is finalized, Cotecna will conduct an initial verification audit to verify compliance with OBP requirements. Upon successful completion, your organization will receive the certification, typically valid for one year. To maintain certification, a recertification audit is required at the end of this period.
